Week of Videos - Day 4

Who doesn't love a little School House Rock.  I enjoy the classics, you know the ones..."I'm just a bill" and "Conjunction Junction," but as a sucker for romantic stories...this is my favorite school house rock.

"Roses are red, but Morton is blue."  School House Rock is so cute.

What is/was your favorite School House Rock?

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Week of Videos - Day 3

Just in case you didn't know...Adele is fabulous!!!  She just came out with a new album.  (I'm 21 of 75 requests.)  My favorite song of is called "Turn My Heart to Stone," from her first album "19." Listen to it...its fabulous and moody.  Confession to those of you who have never lived with me...I am a karaoke star whenever I'm in my house.  Recently, Howard has been privy to quite a few performances of that song.

This song is from her new album...Enjoy!

Yours Affectionately,
A.H.

Addiction to...

Hi...My name is Angela...and it has been about 2 seconds since I last used ellipses.

I realized recently that I am totally addicted to ellipses...I also realized that I don't care who knows it!

Bring on the three periods right in a row that are my constant writing companions...ah...there you are old friends.

Side note...is it weird that I refer to punctuation like a person?

Anywhoo...have a great Wednesday!

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Week of Videos - Day 2

Day 2!

If you are the proud parent of a little girl who enjoys fairy tales, if you yourself enjoy Disney princess movies, or you have a thing quirky chameleons then...you need to see Tangled.  It is the best Disney movie in quite sometime.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Week of Videos - Day 1

So, I went to choose a video of the week and there were too many I wanted to choose.  So...welcome to the week of videos.

Day 1!

This a scene from Criminal Minds.  It makes me laugh, plus, that is one of the experiments I put into my brother's science kit I gave him for Christmas.  Good to know it really works!!

See you tomorrow!

Yours Affectionately,
A.H.

Thoughts of the Day

1. I can't believe it is April in less than a week.  That makes me happy and stresses me out all at the same time.  In in first 8 days of April I will finish planning and attend one of my best friend's bridal shower and finish organizing and put on a event with the officers of the Children and Young Adult Library Services student group.

2. I am feeling incredibly apathetic about life today.  I really want to just go to bed and sleep all day, but instead I'm forcing myself to clean, do homework, and finish other things on my to do list.  (Which is massive by the way.)  This is my break between cleaning my living room/kitchen and unpacking from Spring Break and cleaning my bathroom.  I seriously need to dump the mood and get to work.

3. I love my fish.  His name is Howard and I know its silly, but I would be sad if he died.  I've been kicking around an idea about a new children's book...Howard is the protagonist.

That is all I've got for you today.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Video of the Week

This is possibly one of my favorite scenes from Bones.  Here is the back story for those of you who don't watch the show.  Brennan's father is in jail...she is trying to set up a family Christmas celebration.

Caroline is one of the funniest characters.  I would love to have her attitude!

"Because you're all Dr. Brennan and Special Agent Seeley Booth and its Christmas and I have a puckish side that will not be denied."

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

These aren't my favorite scenes, but they are good.

A More Elegant Weapon

According to leading psychologists...

Enjoy!

Some of my favorite...

...blogs.

Just thought I would share a couple of my favorite blogs this week.

1. Stuff Christians Like - A great commentary on things that make life as a Christian great...like hot dishes, and random Lord of the Rings references.

2. Jones Design Company - Check out the tutorials...they are great!  Also...monthly giveaways.

3. Lisa Hessel Photography - Favorite photography blog, I've ever found.  She took the pictures at a friend's wedding a couple years ago and I've been following her blog ever since.

4. Whatever - A great blog about life, craft Thursdays, and family.

5. Family Chic - Lots of decorating and craft ideas.  Some are just ok, but there are quite a few that I'm really excited to use when I have a grown-up apartment/house.

Have a great week everybody!

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Video of the Week

So, I've decided I want a to come up with a fake name to give out if necessary...I was inspired by Phoebe.

Any good ideas?  I also like Karen's (from Will and Grace) fake name: Anastasia Beaverhausen.

Also Phoebe inspired...I want my tombstone to read..."Angela H. Buried Alive."

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Model Hair

Today as I was riding in my car with the windows down I remembered something from when I was little.  My sister and I always wanted to have "model hair."  Let me explain what I mean.  Anytime the wind was blowing we wanted our hair to look something like this.

We were funny kids, but as I walked downtown and the wind gave me "model hair," it made me smile.  It's good to be remember being a kid, it's good to be a girl.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Happy Things

Things that are making me happy this week...

1. Taxes and FAFSA are done courtesy of my rockin' poppa.

2. An awesome research project, in which I would get to organize a library, is in the works.

3. My favorite patron came into the library; they always come in and I pick out movies for them.  Reader's (or in this case viewer's) advisory is going to be my favorite part of my job.

4.  Buddy the Elf, Arctic Puppets, and Mr. Narwhal.

5. I thought about graduating in December, but decided to stay and graduate in May.  It was just a small window when I considering it, but it made me realize how much I enjoy life here.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Video of the Week

We have had quite a bit of rainy weather here and so I thought I would use this week's video to introduce one of my favorite rainy day artists, Aaron Espe.  I couldn't find any actual videos, but this is one of my favorite songs with the cover art.

If you like acoustic-y music, I highly recommend him.  Some of my other favorite songs are Bold Son and See You Soon.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

For Christmas I embellished three different shirts for my sister.  One of the shirts was a map of Alaska with a heart over the camp where she spent last summer.

As soon as I finished I knew I wanted
one for me.  I started out with this.

And ended up with this.  I used a shirt I knew I wouldn't miss if I messed up the map.  Unfortunately, adding to the front of a shirt doesn't change how it fits.  Crazy, I know!!  So I bought a canvas bag, which was on sale for $1.32.  I so enjoy a good deal!!
I ended up with this!!

Here is the tutorial I used.  Jones Design Company is a great blog, take a look around while you are there.

Yours affectionately,
A.H.

Six-Word Memoirs

So I recently got a twitter account.  It is kind of interesting being limited to 140 characters.  It reminded me of one of my coffee table books.  It is called "Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs."  The whole book was based around an idea from Hemingway.  He wrote "For Sale: baby shoes, never worn" and proved that you could tell an entire story in six words.  The editors asked for people to submit their six words memoirs.  Here are some of my favorites:

Living for Jesus because Earth sucks.     -Johnny Johnson

Lucky in love, unlucky in metabolism.     -Leah Weathersby

Should have learned to count.     -David Wheatley

Put whole self in, shook about.     -Melissa Delzio

I don't know what mine is.  They are hard to write.  How about these:

Young woman seeks God and confidence.

Chic librarian finds love in books.

Austen fan in love with Wentworth.

Laughing with friends, living with fish.

I like them all!!!  Which one of mine is your favorite?  What is your six-word memoir?

Yours affectionately,
A.H.
